Clear and sunny and 2 F: let's go skiing in Le Bic National Park!

We began this clear sunny crisp day by watching a nearly full moon 'set 'over the northern Appalachians as the sun began to rise over a snow-covered field about 7:30 A.M. After a hot tasty breakfast, and a walk with our dog Woody, we hopped in the car for the short drive to Bic National Park and some cross-country skiing. In late afternoon (about 4:30), we watched the sun set in the distance over a ridge on the far side of Saint Fabian. It was a beautiful January day in Quebec Province, Canada.

The large building on the right is Ferme Rioux,
the Park's main Visitor Center (closed in winter)

The ice-covered bay behind Ferme Rioux. The mounds in the bay are apparently caused by the tides; presumably, high tide exerts a pressure on the surface of the ice causing the ice to break and be pushed up in places.

Swim at own risk: I don't think this is an issue in winter

Trail sign; we saw snowshoers and cross-country skiers today; no fat tire bicyclists
