Our neighbors horses in winter

One of our neighbors in Le Bic, Quebec Province, has a horse farm with about 10 horses. Along with a barn, there is a pen, and fields for grazing. I enjoy watching the horses during my daily walks, including in winter, as they spend most days outside, even when the temperatures are well below freezing. In winter, they feed on baled hay, sourced from adjacent fields. As I walk by with my dog Woody, the horses often gaze back at us, seemingly as curious of us as we are of them. I suspect they're hoping for food but perhaps there's more to it than that. Here are a few photos....
