Our first winter storm in Le Bic

Shortly after arriving at our home in Le Bic, a major winter storm hit the region with snow and high winds. I have not seen a report on exactly how much snow fell but it was enough to cause local schools to close for two days, which apparently is quite rare. While the temperatures were on the mild side (today's high was 28 F), the temperatures are predicted to be get up to only 4 and 5 F over the next couple of days. Below are photos of our home landscape the morning after the storm hit the night of 9 January 2019.

A large drift formed along the road blocking our driveway

Shoveling away the snow drift behind our car.

Snow drifts against our outbuildings
The side of our house along with the adjoining antique barn.

Woody navigating snow up to his belly.

Fortunately, snowplows from the city of Rimouski regularly plow the roads including our little dead end street.
One of our neighbors helps out by clearing snow from driveways with his rather large scale snow blower.
